This term Year 5 will be Historical detectives, learning about life in the Victorian times.  We will begin by researching the life of Queen Victoria and the legacy she has left behind.  The children will explore the changes which occurred in this period, learning about the Industrial Revolution and its impact on society and what this meant for the lives of the rich and the poor.  They will discover inventions from the Victorian times and learn about the brilliant minds of that time.

If you’d like to support us at home, in Maths this term we will be covering Decimals, Geometry and measurement.  In English we will be reading a book set in the Victorian times and using this for narrative writing.  We will also be writing biographies and Instructions based around .the famous people from this era.

We aspire to keep our children safe, at school and online...
