A very warm welcome back to all parents and children of Collingtree. The children arrived to find our hallway transformed into the Pantheon and our classroom adorned with Greek pillars and vases.  The children learned about the ancient Olympic games and took part in our own recreation.

This term we are lucky to have Mrs Lee and Ms Rees as Classroom Assistants.  They are both with us to support both me and the children.

In Maths this term we are already learning Place Value reaching numbers up to a million.  We will be covering Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Statistics and at the end of term we will be learning about Area and Perimeter.  The emphasis in Maths is to learn a variety of different methods as well as showing Maths Mastery through applying their knowledge when problem solving and giving reasoned answers.

In English we are focussing our reading and writing linking to our ancient Greece topic and the children have already started to learn to use the features when writing a recount.

I am sure we will have a wonderful, fulfilling, exciting term ahead.

We aspire to keep our children safe, at school and online...
