This term, Class 3 are following the whole school topic of 'Wow! How we've Changed' where we will be looking at how things nowadays are different to those in Victorian times.  We will be looking specifically at our local area and the canals around us. We will be delving into the history behind these canals and why they were used and look ar comparisons to show what we use today instead to get the same jobs done.

You can see what we're studying this term on our topic map, which you'll find below but if you'd like to support us in our Maths and English work, here's some details of what we'll be covering.

In English, we will be continuing to write stories ensuring we are using paragraphs for new information and inverted commas for speech. We will also be writing some non-fiction texts where it will be essential that we use headings and subheadings throughout.

In Maths, we will be learning about fractions (adding and subtracting), time (24-hour clock), shapes (angles) and measurement (g/kg and ml/l).  Overall, we will be continuing to practise our times tables especially the 3, 4 and 8s and we are going to be looking at how we can improve our handwriting and presentation in all subject areas, so any extra work in these areas will definitely help in class.

We aspire to keep our children safe, at school and online...
