Welcome to Field Maples Class...

In Field Maples class you will find our year 2 and 3 children hard at work.  Their class teacher is Miss Bruley and their teaching assistant is Mrs Lee.  In the Spring term the class theme is ‘From Bean to Bar’ where the children will be taking a bite into chocolate.  They will find out about the history of chocolate, where in the world it comes from and what Fairtrade means.  Click on the links below to find out about learning in this term and the whole year.

In year 2 and 3 we continue to develop children's phonic knowledge through reading and spelling.  In year 2 and 3 we further develop the love of reading through using individual colour banded reading books, guided reading using Book Talk and VIPERS and listening to high quality texts read by adults every day.

Here are some of the key texts we will be using:

We will start the new school year by looking at number and place value.  Please take a look at the maths knowledge organisers below which will help you support your child at home with their learning.  Please take time to support your child in learning the meaning of the key vocabulary.
