Summer term is here and we are looking forward to lots of outdoor adventures now the weather will be brighter - hopefully!

We are looking at lots of footwear this term and investigating the people who wear them - starting with 'Whose boots? .......Our boots!'

So a nice walk to investigate the terrain around the village in our boots makes an excellent, exciting starting point.  We cannot wait to see who the other 'boots' in this topic belong to.

If you would like to support the Literacy and Maths at home, these are the goals we are aiming for.

  • To use their phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately.
  • To demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.
  •  To write simple sentences that can be read by themselves and others. Some words are spelt correctly and some are phonetically plausible.

  • To use quantities and objects to add and subtract single digit numbers.
  • To use everyday language to talk about time and weight.
  • To solve simple mathematical problems.

Make sure you keep reading at home.

So Acorn Class, get your boots ready - they are made for walking.

We aspire to keep our children safe, at school and online...
